Nick Taylor, #11, on the run against Mansfield.

The Cowboys came through with a hard fought 4-2 win over the Mansfield Tigers last Friday night in the Bi-District first round of playoffs at Mansfield High School.  Scott Simigian was first to score for the Cowboys off of an assist from Brandon Bohn.  The Tigers came back to tie it up and then score again leaving the Cowboys in an unusual position of being down 1-2 with 25 minutes remaining in the 2nd half.

The Cowboys continued to battle while Player of the Game, Nick Taylor, was fouled in the box.  Taylor scored the penalty kick to tie the game 2-2.  As the clock continued to tick away, Brandon Bohn sent a free kick into the box where it found Wyatt Priest's head to reach the back of the net to make it 3-2.  With minutes remaining, it was Nick Taylor's rocket shot that finished the game with a score of 4-2 for the Cowboys.

Head Coach Chad Rakestraw and the Cowboys will take on the Flower Mound Marcus Marauders THIS FRIDAY in what is sure to be a tough, rivalry packed 6A Area round playoff game.  Please come out to Lewisville High School's Goldsmith Stadium this FRIDAY, APRIL 1st to cheer on the Cowboys!  Kick off is at 7:00 pm!
