The Coppell Lariettes Drill Team recently completed their 2016 competition season that included the Crowd Pleasers Dallas Showcase of Champions in Keller, The MA Dance North Texas Regional Competition in Frisco, and The Show Makers Competition in San Antonio.  

At the February 20 Crowd Pleasers Dallas Showcase of Champions in Keller, the team awards included Super Sweepstakes, Showcase Elite, Winner for Prop-Extra Large Division, Outstanding Choreography for Kick and Prop, Outstanding Precision for Kick, Pom, and Prop, Outstanding Technique for Pom, and Crowd Pleaser Award for Pom.  The officers (Captain Linda Castranova, Senior Lieutenant Maddie Campbell, and Junior Lieutenant Adrienne Allen) won State Champion Officer Line for Extra Large Division, Super Sweepstakes,  Showcase Elite, Winner for Jazz and Novelty; Outstanding Choreography for Jazz and Novelty,  and Outstanding Precision for Jazz. In the solo competition high school junior division (9th and 10th grade), Stephanie Wendt was 9th runner up, Sarah Wales was 4th runner up, and Kristen Lason was 3rd runner up. 

At the February 27  MA Dance North Texas Regional in Frisco, the team won Super Sweepstakes, Choreography Award for Pom, Prop, and Kick, Technique Award for Pom, Prop, and Kick, High Point Award for Pom, Prop and Kick,  Best in Class for Super Team Division, and Winner’s Circle.   The officers won Super Sweepstakes, Choreography Awards for Contemporary, Jazz, and Novelty, Technique Award for Contemporary, Jazz, and Novelty, Best in Class for their division, 2nd place overall, and Winner’s Circle.  Emma Saiter and Kara Williams were named 1st runner up for their duet while Kristen Lason was 4th Runner Up for Junior Soloist, and Maddie Campbell was 3rd Runner Up for Senior Soloist. 

At the March 5th Show Makers Competition in San Antonio, the team won Best in Class Winner for their division, Team Showmanship for Pom, Kick, and Prop, Choreography Awards for Pom, Kick, and Prop, Technique Award for Pom and Prop, Precision Award for Pom and Prop, Costume award for Kick, and Best in Category in Extra Large Divison for Pom, Kick, and Prop.  Officer Awards included Sweepstakes and Judges Awards, Showmanship for Jazz, Contemporary, and Novelty, Choreography for Jazz, Contemporary, and Novelty, Technique for Jazz, Contemporary and Novelty, Precision for Contemporary and Novelty, Judges Choice Award for Novelty; Best in Category for Jazz, Contemporary, and Novelty, and 2nd place Line of Champions.  In the solo and duet competition, Emma Saiter and Kara Williams placed 3rd with their duet.  High School junior solo winners were Rebecca Carroll 3rd place and Stephanie Wendt 2nd place.  High School Senior solo winners were Linda Castranova 4th place, Adrienne Allen 3rd place, and Maddie Campbell 2nd place. 

The Lariettes are under the direction of Julie Stralow, Director, and Hayley Mitchell, Assistant Director.
