Dock Bresnahan, 2015 Coppell High School senior, was recently awarded the David Gill Memorial Educational Foundation Scholarship by Hannah Gill Clark, oldest daughter of the late David Gill and Susan Gill, sister of David Gill. The scholarship is given annually by Kay Gill Mendoza in honor of her late husband. The Gills were Coppell residents and 12-year members of the Coppell Family YMCA when David died of a heart attack while jogging through a Coppell neighborhood. The scholarship, which honors a Coppell High School or New Tech graduate, was started by Gill Mendoza six years ago to honor David’s love for the YMCA and books.
