Coppell Hockey Excels in Summer League Play

What's a cool thing to do during the scorching summer months of Texas? One good answer would be watching the Coppell High School hockey team dominating in Summer League play. The team skated circles around the competition and roughed up Plano West in the finals, 6-1, to take home the Summer League Championship.

The Junior Varsity team came close to replicating the success of the Varsity squad but fell just short in overtime, 4-3, to Flower Mound Marcus in the final game.

The Coppell hockey team will be offering a summer hockey camp for any hockey players from sixth grade till twelfth grade that is living in the Coppell ISD school district. The camp will meet at Farmers Branch on Monday, August 6 from 6:00 to 7:15 p.m. and on Wednesday, August 8 from 6:15 to 7:15 p.m. The camp will focus primarily on skills training and strength & conditioning training, as well as character development and leadership & team building concepts.

Then, on Friday, August 10, campers will have the opportunity to try out for the Coppell High School hockey team. The tryout will be held at Valley Ranch from 6:00 - 7:15 p.m. To register for the camp and tryout, contact Coppell Hockey at coppellhockey@yahoo.com. The full cost of the camp and tryout is $75.
