Coppell Police Department Needs Small Businesses to Sign Up on Tip411

The Coppell Police Department recently released a new public safety alert software package named tip411 to better reach and protect the public. But, the police department wants businesses to realize that tip411 isn't just for private residents but also for them.

The software enables businesses in the community to interact and communicate in a new and up-to-the-minute fashion by opting-in to email, text messages and web published public safety alerts. Businesses can also sign up to receive safety alerts and crime bulletins at no cost to the company.

Companies can sign up by visiting the Coppell Police Department's webpage and clicking on the police badge just above "Sign Up for Crime Bulletins" or by visiting the Citizen Observer website. Businesses sign up exactly the same way that private individuals do, except that businesses can also select a business-type or category. This will allow Coppell Police to warn certain segments of the business community about crime issues that may directly affect their type of business.

The Coppell Police Department offers a realistic example of how tip411 can help protect Coppell businesses:

An individual has passed counterfeit bills at retail locations in a nearby city. The Coppell Police possess video, photos and other information that they wish to send to businesses that might become victims. The tip411 package would allow the Coppell Police Department to quickly arm potential victim businesses with the information they need to protect themselves. The Coppell Police Department believes that by partnering with its business community and sharing timely, relevant information that crime and the costs it causes to be passed on to the consumer can be greatly reduced.

Therefore, the Coppell Police Department requests that all businesses within Coppell join them in fighting crime. All crime alerts also appear on the Coppell Police Department's Twitter and Facebook accounts, as well as on the department's webpage under "Crime Bulletins."
