Elementary District Teacher of the Year Carolyn Ratliff and Secondary District Teacher of the Year Holly Anderson
On April 25th, the Coppell Education Foundation held its annual Red & Black Academic Recognition Banquet.  The event celebrates the graduating seniors in the top five percent at Coppell High School and New Tech High @ Coppell.  This year, forty Coppell High School students and four New Tech High @ Coppell students attended the event held at the Courtyard Marriott in Grapevine.

For the event, each senior got to select a CISD teacher who had made a positive impact on their academic career to invite to the banquet.  During the evening, the students were given the opportunity to honor their selected teacher by sharing with all of the attendees how that teacher had impacted their educational experience.  While the majority of the honored teachers were from one of the high schools, there were five middle school and two elementary school teachers recognized.

Brad Hunt, Assistant Superintendent for Administration of Coppell ISD, also announced the elementary and secondary district teachers of the year during the banquet.  Carolyn Ratliff from Cottonwood Creek Elementary was named Elementary District Teacher of the Year and Holly Anderson from Coppell High School was named Secondary District Teacher of the Year.

“The Academic Recognition Banquet is my favorite Foundation event of the year,” said Manish Sethi, Coppell Education Foundation president.  “It celebrates the academic success of our students while recognizing the hard work and commitment of our teachers and staff.  Since our mission is to promote academic innovation and excellence, the banquet represents the culmination of all the efforts CEF boards members put in throughout the year while celebrating our student and teachers.”
