School doesn't start for several more weeks, but the Coppell High School volleyball team will be starting early. Their season starts on Tuesday, August 14 with a dual match at home against J.J. Pearce at 3:00 p.m. and Bishop Lynch at 6:00 p.m.

The team will also being a season-long fundraiser on Tuesday for Kamryn Rakeshaw, the 15-month old daughter of Coppell High School boys varsity soccer coach Chad Rakeshaw. In May, Kamryn was taken to the hospital after not eating or drinking. A sonogram revealed a mass on her aorta artery, which was later diagnosed as a form of cancer called neuroblastoma.

The volleyball team will be selling t-shirt with all profits going directly to the Rakeshaw family to help with medical bills. The shirts can be purchased through the volleyball concession stand all season or by contact volleyball coach Julie Green at jgreen@coppellisd.com.
