During their recent show, the Coppell High School Vivace! choir raised over $2,100 to support the Libbie Ainsworth Scholarship at Auburn University. The show was dedicated to Libbie, a Vivace! member from 2008-2010 and captain in 2009-10, who passed away early this year. During the show, the choir sang the title song, “Put a Little Love in Your Heart” while a video tribute showed pictures of Libbie in Vivace! performances and with her choir friends. Funds raised for the scholarship were donated by audience members.

Ryan Boger, senior Vivace! member, said "doing the show in Libbie’s name was a great way to celebrate not only her time in Vivace! but her whole life. She really had an impact on everyone she knew and for the four of us, Grant, Anna, Rachael, and me, it really made us realize how much we all love Vivace! and how much we miss Libbie."

The Ainsworth family attended all performances. Jean Ainsworth, Libbie’s mother, spoke for the family, saying “our family was very touched that Vivace! wanted to honor Libbie in this way. We are so grateful for all the love and support we have received from our community, and for all the money raised toward the scholarship in her name.”

In prior years, the choir has raised money to support Africa water projects and Taylor’s Gift Foundation. The show was also a tribute to the many Vivace! singers who will be graduating. During a performance of “Change the World,” all graduating seniors sported t-shirts from the colleges they will attend. Several choir alumni in attendance joined the choir on stage for a traditional performance of “Come Sail Away.”
