Coppell Lariette officers prepare to “kick off” the 22nd st Annual Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction, and Raffle. Featuring (l-r) Ellie Manning, Hannah Yao, Maddie Campbell, Kate Dastur, Morris Salerno, Linda Castranova, Courtney Kline, Adrienne Allen, Laine Apple.

It is one of Coppell’s favorite traditions to kick-off the first home football game by attending the Coppell Lariette Spaghetti Dinner prior to the game.  The 22nd Annual Lariette Spaghetti Dinner, Silent Auction, and Raffle will take place on Friday, September 4th from 5:00 – 7:00pm at Coppell High School.

Award-winning chef, Morris Salerno, of Highland Village’s Bistecca Italian Steakhouse has provided the food for the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner for 22 years.  In 1993, he was approached by the Lariettes to make the pasta for 200 people.  He offered to make the entire dinner instead.  This year it is anticipated that Salerno will be preparing over 1000 spaghetti dinners the night of the event.

“There’s a lot of pride, tradition, and experience that goes into our food,” Salerno explains.   Salerno’s sauce, that he calls “suga”, is based on his great-grandmother’s recipe that he helped prepare as a child. Coppell community members return to the Lariette’s Spaghetti Dinner year after year to enjoy this famous sauce.

In addition to the Spaghetti Dinner, the Lariettes are also having raffle prize drawings, a silent auction, and bake sale.

The raffle tickets are $5 and $1 and items include a 40” Smart HD TV, Go Pro Hero 3+, Fitbit Charge HR, a diamond pendant necklace, Concept 7 (formerly Pixels) portrait experience, golf outings, and more.  Tickets are available from any Lariette drill team member.

The Silent Auction this year offers amazing auction items!  Sports fans will enjoy bidding on a tour of the Dallas Cowboy War Room and practice facility, tickets to the PGA Colonial Golf Tournament, an autographed football from A&M’s coach Kevin Sumlin, golf at Hackberry Creek Country Club, Trophy Club Country Club, or Riverchase Golf Club, tickets to see the Dallas Stars, and much more.  Parents will have the chance to bid on Karen Dillard College Prep Package or a night out dining at the chef’s table at J. Macklin’s Grill.  In addition, there are hundreds of gift cards and items from local restaurants, retailers, and entertainment venues up for bid.

Tickets for the event are $10 for the adult dinner and $5 for children ages 3 to 12.  For more information about the Lariette Spaghetti Dinner, visit their website at www.chslariettes.com.
