The Coppell High School Cross Country team under the direction of head coach, Nick Benton, has been rigorously training for the 2016 season and is ready to start competing.  The first meet is this Friday night, August 19.  The team will participate under the lights at the Friday Night Hawk Invite 2016 Cross Country Invitational at McInnish Park in Carrollton.  This 2 mile event is hosted by the Hebron High School Hawks.  It is the second year that CHS will start its season at the Friday Night Hawk Invite.  45 other teams are  registered for the race.  It will be an exciting meet with top runners from across Texas.  Coppell has a number of varsity girls and boys returning this year plus some outstanding freshman prospects.  The team motto for the 2016 season is "Committed to Success".   The Friday Night Hawk Invite is just on the outskirts of Coppell.  The community is invited to come out and support our Coppell long distance runners.  The race begins at 7:30 pm with the Junior Varsity teams followed by the girls and boys Varsity teams.
