The Coppell Education Foundation is bringing back the Red & Black Super Star teacher and student recognition program that it launched last year at all of the CISD elementary and middle school campuses.  The program is designed to give parents, students and CISD staff an opportunity to recognize the dedicated and hardworking students, teachers, administrators and support staff within the district.

Parents, CISD staff and students are given the opportunity to nominate any CISD staff person at their campus that they would like to be considered for the award.  Student nominations will be submitted by CISD staff.

This year there will be four nomination periods, roughly every nine weeks to match up with the elementary school grading periods.  At the elementary schools, an average of one student per grade and two CISD staff will be selected and at the middle schools an average of three students per grade and three CISD staff will be selected.  The first nomination deadline for this year is Friday, October 7th.

The awards are presented at assemblies, during announcements or in the classroom, depending on the school.  All recipients receive a certificate, a Red & Black Super Star t-shirt and a stylus.

“We had such a great response from principals, parents, teachers and students last year, so we are really excited to bring this program back,” said Rosie Stevens, who heads up the Red & Black Super Star program this year for the Coppell Education Foundation.

Nominations can be made via the Coppell Education Foundation website at www.coppellisdef.com
