The Cowgirls Varsity Soccer team continued a 15-year running playoff tradition by beating Denton Ryan 2-0 on Tuesday night. It was Senior Night for the Cowgirls and the five seniors really played great. Senior Alexa Ramirez started off the scoring with an assist by junior Sarah King, and senior Jackie Nichols scored the second goal with the assist by senior Mckenna DeLong. Seniors Riley Spudic and Hannah Clark also played great on defense for the Cowgirls along with goal keeper Rachel Johnson to preserve the shut out.

"This has been the toughest District I have been a part of in the 17 years I have been at Coppell and I am proud of this group for fighting and winning a playoff spot," said Coach Stricker. "This group of young ladies has really worked hard over the past few months and the fruit of their hard work is starting to show. We know we won't face anyone in the playoffs better than the top teams in our District, so that should give the girls a lot of confidence going into the playoffs.  We definitely need to take one game at time and play hard every minute of every game and I think we can beat anyone."

The Cowgirls play their final District game on Friday, March 21 at 7:30 p.m. away at Lewisville and they will play Grapevine the following Friday, March 28 at Coppell in the bi-district round of the playoffs.
