Enrollment for the Coppell Citizen’s Fire Academy (CFA) is underway. This unique program will provide an insider's view of the Coppell Fire Department. The program is free and provides Coppell citizens with safety training that can be utilized both at home and in the workplace.

The Academy allows participants the opportunity to learn the tactics and strategies involved in firefighting and rescue operations through both classroom sessions and hands-on exercises. The five week Academy will meet twice weekly from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Monday and Thursday nights beginning April 28 through May 22.  A live fire event will occur on May 31, followed by a graduation ceremony on June 3.

The CFA is a terrific opportunity to learn about the services offered by the Coppell Fire Department as well as provide useful information regarding emergency preparedness.  All classes are taught by Coppell Fire Department personnel.  A graduation ceremony will be conducted at the conclusion of the Coppell Citizen's Fire Academy celebrating participation and completion of the program.

Applications may be submitted through Coppell Connections, the City’s volunteer registration portal available on the City’s Web site at coppelltx.gov. To be eligible, participants must be at least 19 years of age and reside in Coppell. A criminal background check will be conducted on all candidates. Applications are due April 24.

If you have additional questions about the academy, please contact David Malone at 972-304-7057.
