#24, Colten Clark, and the rest of the Cowboys are off to Georgetown this week to compete in the State Championship tournament.

Congratulations to the Cowboys Soccer Team on their Regional tournament victory in Midland!  The boys are now off to Georgetown this week to try to reclaim their State Championship title.

The boys were able to take care of business in the Regional semi-final with a 3-1 win over El Paso Eastwood with the first goal scored by senior Justin Todd off of an assist by senior Chris Madden.  Next, junior Colten Clark was able to put away a shot off of senior Kellen Reid's assist.  Clark came back to assist junior Griffin Jaksa who put away the 3rd and final goal.  It was Player of the Game, junior goal keeper Robbie Coens, who stood out for the team with his amazing saves.

The Cowboys then faced district rival, Marcus High School, in the Regional final on Saturday.  Everyone knew this would be a tense game as the teams previous matchups resulted in a 2-1 Coppell win and a 1-1 tie.  It was Coppell who would come out on top this time shutting out the Mauraders with a 2-0 final score.  Junior Austin Michaelis came through with the first goal with 6 minutes remaining in the first half.  With ten minutes left in the game, Kellen Reid was able to capitalize off of an Austin Michaelis throw in to make it 2-0.  The Marauders couldn't break through the tough Coppell defense to score.

The Cowboys are back to Georgetown this week where they will play in the State Championship semi-final and hopefully on to the final to reclaim their 2013 title.  GO COWBOYS!
