Coppell Boys JV Lacrosse Defeats Seven Lakes JV in home Opener

Coppell Boys JV team started off a bit slow in their opening game, falling behind 3 to 2 through the first quarter of play, but that’s when the offense got going for the Cowboys. Sophomore Brandon Point led the scoring on the day with 3 goals, along with Sophomore Ethan Bivens, who posted 2 goals and 1 assist. Mark Webb contributed 2 goals on the day and Walker Cain added 1 goal and 2 assists.

The Cowboy defense got sharper as the day went on, with Sophomore David Lucas and Freshmen Reid Robbins and Davis Dodd playing every shift. Peyton Barron did a little bit of everything, winning ground balls, playing short-stick middie and LSM on man down, as well as scoring an unassisted goal. Close defender Reid Robbins even got in on the offense, scooping up a grounder, leading the fast break, and finding Sophomore Cole Kaiser, who scored. Sophomore Luke Bivens also showed his two-way middie skills, posting one goal and 1 assist, along with a couple of steals and foot clears on the defensive end of the field.

Junior Lee Martin led the way for the Cowboy goaltenders, who posted a combined 57% save percentage for the game.

The next game for Coppell Boys JV will be this Friday night against Plano East HS JV, at Jack Clark Grass Fields in Plano, at 6:30 PM.
