Coppell High School Boys Lacrosse Weekly Updates- week ending Feb. 4th

Coppell High School Boy’s Lacrosse continued with their Spring exhibition season this past weekend by participating in a great event-- Play for Parkinsons, hosted by the Episcopal School of Dallas Lacrosse program (http://www.playforparkinsons.org/).

This was the first full-field game action this season for many of our players, and it gave our coaching staff a chance to see the team against some outside competition, so it was beneficial all around.

Coppell came up short in the first game against host team ESD, 8-3. The scoring for Coppell included goals by Seniors Ryan Finglass and Ben Goyne, and a great assist by Senior Tommy Donaldson to Junior Zach Bartolacci.

Coppell came back strong in their second game, posting a 5-2 win over Plano West. The defense was anchored all day by the consistent play of Seniors Adam Coberly, Ryan Gordon, and Dylan Thompson, Junior Harper DeLoach, and Senior LSM Conner Choate, and Senior short-stick defender Joe Fex.

The last game against Southlake was a close one that ended in a 3-3 tie after Coppell came back from a 2-1 halftime deficit. The game featured multiple big saves by the Goalie duo of Senior Cooper McAden and Freshman Hayden MacArthur. Senior Face-off Specialist Ripken Reynolds had an impressive performance, winning over 50% of his face-offs on the day.

The High School Boys team will now prepare for their season openers against Seven Lakes HS this Saturday, February 11, at Lesley Field in Coppell. Junior Varsity will play at 12 Noon, followed by the Varsity game at 2 PM. We will be launching our Very Important Players program this weekend, as we will be recognizing all of our CISD staff and employees, who will gain free admission to the games by showing their employee ID badge at the gate.

Please come out and support the Cowboys!
