Known statewide for an impressive performing arts program, Coppell ISD recently presented plans for a possible performing arts expansion – to include an orchestra program – starting in the fall of 2014. Some crippling state budget cuts put an end to the district’s first attempt at an orchestra program after only one year, in 1999. The idea was placed “on hold” but with the prospect of a more favorable economic outlook, parents and community members are again expressing interest.
