Mo Saif scores twice for Coppell.

The 6A State Champion Coppell Cowboys (11-2-1) hosted the Lake Highlands Wildcats on Friday night at Buddy Echols Field.   The game started slowly for the Cowboys as they fell behind when Lake Highlands scored an early goal.  But Coppell maintained their composure by quickly regrouping and ultimately putting together one of their best performances of the season.

Nick Taylor responded quickly to Lake Highland’s brief lead by scoring the first goal for Coppell.  Before half time commenced, Jacob Thurman added to more goals for Coppell sending the Cowboys into the break leading 3-1.

Coppell completely dominated the game in the second half with Mo Saif adding two goals, Jordan Pemberton adding a single goal, and Alex Haas adding two goals.  The final score was Coppell 8 Lake Highlands 1.

Coppell has won 8 of their last 9 games and appear to be rounding into form as the playoffs approach.

This week the Cowboys have two more difficult district games on their schedule.  On Tuesday night the Cowboys host WT White and on Friday night the Cowboys travel to Berkner.  Both games kick-off at 7:30PM.
