Player of the Game Nick Taylor scores his second goal of the game.

On Friday night the 6A state champion Coppell Cowboys (8-1-1) hosted Skyline in a 6A Regional showdown.  Skyline has earned a reputation of being a difficult team to beat.  This season they have challenged all their opponents with close games.  However, the expected difficult test never materialized as early goals by Nick Taylor, Wyatt Priest, and Moe Saif gave Coppell a commanding 3-0 lead over Skyline.  With an outstanding strike from the edge of the penalty area, Nick Taylor added a fourth goal before half time.

Shortly after half-time, Skyline managed to pull a goal back from Coppell.  Later in the game, a goal by Jacob Vasquez restored the four goal difference and Coppell comfortably played out the rest of the game.  The final score was 5-1.

For his two goals and his always threatening behavior when in possession of the ball, Nick Taylor was named player of the game.

This week Coppell have two difficult games, a road game at Richardson on Tuesday and a top of the table clash against Jesuit on Friday.  Both games kick off at 7:30PM.
