The Coppell High School Cowboys are looking to compete for the Division I high school 7-on-7 state title at a tournament hosted in College Station this weekend.

The tournament consists of Class 4A and 5A squads and will begin on Friday at Texas A&M University.

The Cowboys are ranked No. 15, and they are scheduled to play Belton (34), Katy Cinco Ranch (8) and Pasadena Dobie (52) in Pool D.

At the competition, the two top teams in each pool will advance to a 32-team championship tournament. The bottom two teams in each pool will compete in a consultation tournament.

Coppell made it to the state quarterfinals last year but lost 46-31 to DeSoto.
