Coppell Mayor Doug Stover will not be charged in a traffic accident where he reportedly struck a pedestrian with his vehicle, according to a Dallas Morning News report.

An Irving road repair worker who said Stover hit him at the intersection of Cowboys Parkway and MacArthur Boulevard then left the scene on June 29 will not be filing any charges, so police will not pursue the case any further.

Stover said he was unaware that he had struck a person with his vehicle, and police reported that alcohol did not play a factor in the accident.

The victim was not taken to a hospital for a medical examination but complained of pain.
