Two Coppell organizations will be honoring those who have donated and received organs at a special ceremony this week.

Organ donor families and recipients will be honored with a service and butterfly release at 11 a.m. July 16 at Rolling Oaks Memorial Center, located at 400 S. Freeport Parkway in Coppell.

The Rolling Oaks Memorial Center and the Restland Coppell Chapel will be sponsoring the event. A hot dog picnic  will be hosted after the service, and there will be information provided about donor opportunities and the importance of organ donation. Studies have revealed that one donor's organs can help or save up to 50 lives.
