Don English, who was the baseball coach at Coppell High School for the past nine years but was replaced last month, has been hired for the same position at Plano West Senior High School.

Ironically, Coppell High School replaced English with Kendall Clark, who left his position as baseball coach at Plano West, creating what is essentially a coaching position swap between the schools.

English was under pressure from the Coppell community for not being more successful in the postseason despite reaching the playoffs in eight of his nine years as head coach, according to a VYPE report. Coppell went 211-106-1 with English as coach and was 30-8-1 in 2011.

Clark led Plano West to the 2010 state tournament but went 10-19 this past season. Plano West won the 2008 Class 5A state title and went to the regional semifinals in 2007 while Clark was head coach.
