The Coppell track teams were in Mesquite last week, competing in the Mesquite Invitational on Friday, March 30th at E.H. Hanby Stadium. Varsity girls brought home the Bronze medal, while Varsity boys finished in Fifth Place.
For the CHS Varsity girls, First Place individual medals went to Alyssa Moino in the 3200, and Stephanie Bilka in the 1600. Anna Novosadova placed Second in the 100 Hurdles, as did the 4x400 Relay team of Sierra Andres, Novosadova, Chiamaka Ukoha and Leah Yates. Third Place finishes were posted by Novosadova in 300 Hurdles, Grace Barden in the 800, and Paola Lozano in Pole Vault. Placing Fourth were Rosemary Brinegar in Pole Vault, Andres in the 400, Andres, Maddie Butzer, Haley Smith and Ukoha in the 4x100 Relay, and Butzer, Adaiwu Nwaiwu, Kate Rohrbough and Smith in the 4x200 Relay. Smith took Fifth in the 100, while Sixth went to Bilka in the 800, Ukoha in the 400, and Rohrbough in the 300 Hurdles and Long Jump.
For the Cowboys, CHS junior Carson Vickroy brought home a Gold Medal in the 3200, as well as a Silver in the 1600. Third Place honors went to Troy Parker in the 300 Hurdles, and to Collins Okotcha in the Triple Jump. Samir Marchant took Fourth in the 800, as did Jason Lister in Long Jump and Preston Ramsey in Shot Put. Placing Fifth was the 4x400 Relay team of PJ Chandler, Troy Parker, Lister and Jacob Logan, as well as Shane Gothman in 110 Hurdles, and Lister in 300 Hurdles. Adding Sixth Place points were Lister in the High Jump, and Gavin McDaniel, Chandler, Chris Bates and Wes Diers in the 4x100 Relay.
Coppell JV girls finished First, with points earned by Abel, Cranmer, Foster, Bedichek, Francis, Bordonaro, Dicken, Vincenzo, Sun, Hough, Adams, Richey, Runnels, Pena, Alberse and Burch. JV Boys placed Second, with top six finishes from Armenta, Osuji, Vresnahan, Kohli, Masters, Moore, Ethridge, Williams, Herubin, Nifong, Slover, Mitchell, Gonzalez, Riggs, Lavin, Ruska, Johnson, Difrancesco and Stevenson.
