On March 29-30, 2012, thirteen CHS track athletes competed in the Texas Relays in Austin, Texas. Top high school and college athletes from across the country qualified to compete in the elite multi-day track meet held at Mike A. Myers Stadium on the University of Texas campus.
Coppell Senior Haley Cook jumped 12'0” to bring home a Gold Medal in Section B of the Pole Vault event. The Cowgirls Distance Medley Relay team of Katie Sandfort (1200 meters), Valerie Osamor (400 meters), Sarah Agnew (800 meters), and Jenna Hernandez (1600 meters) finished in 16th Place.
Senior Clay Ross took 14th Place in the Triple Jump event, while Senior Derek Udeh came in 32nd in the 110 Hurdles. The Cowboys 2x200 Relay team of Charles West, Omari Cole, Connor Wilson and Brandon Sanders did not finish the race due to a mishap with the baton. The 4x400 Relay team of Chris Adkins, Sanders, Cole and Udeh crossed the finish line in 36th Place.
