CHS Track CHS Senior Haley Cook set a new CHS record, jumping 12'0" for First Place in the Pole Vault event at the Eagle Relays on Friday, March 23rd. The Coppell Varsity Women's team placed First overall at the meet held in Allen, Texas.

COWGIRLS BRING HOME THE GOLD

After a two week hiatus due to inclement weather and Spring Break, the CHS track teams traveled to Allen on Friday, March 23, 2012 to compete in the Allen Eagle Relays. The Cowgirl Varsity and Junior Varsity teams brought home First Place wins from the meet, while Cowboy Varsity placed Second and JV placed Third.

In Women's Varsity action, Cowgirls Senior Haley Cook won the Pole Vault event, jumping 12'0” to break her own CHS pole vault record. Valerie Osamor added a First Place finish in the 400, as did Alyssa Moino in the 3200, Jenna Hernandez in the 1600, and Anna Novosadova in the 300 Hurdles. The 4x400 Relay team of Leah Yates, Chiamaka Ukoha, Sierra Andres and Osamor took First Place as well. Second Place medals went to Sarah Agnew in both Pole Vault and the 800, and to Katie Sandfort in the 3200. Finishing Third were Sandfort in the 1600, Novosadova in the 100 Hurdles, Kate Rohrbough in the 300 Hurdles, Ukoha in Triple Jump, and Cassidy Pickrell in High Jump. Adding Fourth Place points for the team were Ukoha in the 400, Moino in the 1600, and Rosemary Brinegar in Pole Vault. Yates and Andres took Fifth in the 400 and 200, respectively, as did the 4x100 Relay(Maddie Butzer, Ukoha, Adaiwu Nwaiwu and Osamor) and the 4x200 Relay (Butzer, Rohrbough, Nwaiwu and Andres). Sixth Place finishers were Sammy Robben in Discus, Novosadova in Triple Jump, and Lindsey Meyer in High Jump.

The Cowboys Varsity Team racked up First Place points from Derek Udeh in both the 100 and 300 Hurdles, as well as from Shane Murray in the 1600, Carson Vickroy in the 3200, and Brandon Sanders in the 200. All three relay teams finished in Second Place, including the 4x100 (Gavin McDaniel, Charles West, Chris Bates and Connor Wilson), the 4x200 (West, Omari Cole, Wilson and Sanders), and the 4x400 (Chris Adkins, Sanders, Darian Lowe and Udeh). Second Place individual event finishers were Vickroy in the 1600, Landon Grissett in Pole Vault, and Clay Ross in Long Jump. Ross also nabbed Third in Triple Jump, while Fourth went to West in the 100, Jacob Williams in  Discus, and Jason Lister in Long Jump. Lister also finished Fifth in High Jump, along with Brantley Young in the 3200, McDaniel in the 100, Lowe in the 400, Samir Merchant in the 800, Shane Gothman in the 100 Hurdles, Gerry Meddaugh in Discus, and Michael Fix in Pole Vault. Rounding out the meet with Sixth Place finishes were Young in the 1600, Leo Fan in the 3200, Cole in the 200, Lister in 100 Hurdles, and Josh Escobar in Pole Vault.

Coppell JV Girls finished the meet in First Place, with points from Bedichek, Anderson, Barden, Abel, Cranmer, Fuselier, Bordonaro, Fransis, Runnels, Foster, Nino, Pena, Burch, Hough, Sun, and the 4x400, 4x100, and 4x200 Relay teams. JV Boys finished Third due to the efforts of Parker, Osuji, Mitchell, Chandler, Williams, Diers, Nifong, Slover, Lee, Wilson, and the 4x200, 4x100, and 4x400 Relay teams.
