The Coppell Community Chorale will begin rehearsals for its spring semester on Monday, January 9 at 7:00PM. The volunteer based, non-audition choir performs under the direction of Mr. Joshua Brown. He is in his fifth year as the Director of Choirs and Instructor of Music Theory at Coppell High School. His choirs at the high school are consistent sweepstakes winners at UIL Concert & Sight-reading Contests and continue to gain a national reputation for excellence. His choirs have performed at the 2016 Southwest American Choral Director's Convention and will perform at the 2017 Texas Music Educator's Association Convention.
Remaining performance dates for the Chorale's 2016-2017 season include "I Won't Grow Up", a celebration of children and literature through song, including favorite tunes from movies and musicals inspired by books to be held at the newly renovated Cozby Library and Community Commons on Saturday, February 25 and the traditional spring concert, "My Favorite Things" the weekend of May 5th at the Coppell Center for the Arts. "My Favorite Thing" is the Chorale's first ever "Member's Choice" concert. The music performed will be pieces chosen by Chorale members, reflecting the diversity of tastes and interests in the group.
The chorale rehearses Monday evenings from 7:00PM to 9:00PM at the Coppell Center for the Arts located at 157 S. Moore Road in Coppell. The Chorale is celebrating its 30th year anniversary this season. The choir brings together singers of all ages from Coppell and surrounding areas. Its mission is to promote a greater appreciation and enjoyment of quality music throughout the community. If you are interested in joining the spring semester, the Chorale would love to meet you at their first rehearsal of the new year on Monday, January 9th at 6:00PM prior to rehearsal beginning at 7:00PM.
