It's Back!! Boy Scout Troop 840 Will Host Annual Chili Supper on Saturday, December 11th

Last year, the COVID-19 pandemic caused Boy Scout Troop 840 to cancel its annual "All You Can Stand" Chili Supper.  This year, it is back on and will be held on Saturday, December 11th, 5p.m. to 7p.m., at a new location.  The 27th annual Chili Supper will be held in the Valley Ranch Elementary located at 9800 Rodeo Dr., Irving, TX 75063.

Tickets are $10 for the all-you-can-eat dinner, which includes beef or vegetarian chili, hot dogs, baked potatoes, and all the fixings!

Additionally, chili may be purchased by the quart for $13. To purchase tickets or quarts, please contact a Troop 840 member or email: chilisupper@troop840.org. Advanced sales are being taken through this Tuesday, December 7, 2021.

Tickets may be purchased at the door; however, advance purchase of tickets will ensure that the Troop will have enough chili and will also help scouts reach their chili-selling goal.  Advance purchase for quarts is also encouraged and they will be available for pick up on December 11, 2021, at the supper.

As always, proceeds from the chili supper sponsors the Scout Buck Auction held in May and will be used to purchase camping gear; including tents, chairs, knives, hydration packs, sleeping bags, lanterns, and more.  Scouts must sell a predetermined minimum amount of chili tickets to be eligible to participate in the auction, using "scout bucks" that they have earned throughout the year by attending meetings and camp outs, advancing in rank, earning merit badges, holding leadership positions, participating in the KnotMaster program, and other activities.

While the adults take care of the cooking, the Scouts take care of setting up, serving, and the clean up afterwards.  It's a Troop Tradition and the Scouts are happy to share it with our community.  We look forward to seeing everyone in person again.

Troop 840, which is led by Scoutmaster Frank Miller and Senior Patrol Leader Russ Schroeder, meets weekly at Church of the Apostles, 322 S. MacArthur Blvd., Coppell TX.
